You should NEVER put your baby/toddler or child in their car seat with a winter Jack on. Here is why! 
Bulky clothing including winter coats and snowsuits. should not be worn underneath the harness of a car seat. In a car crash fluffy padding in a coat immediately flattens out from the force, leaving extra space under the harness. A child can then slip through the straps and be thrown from the seat. 
Here are some safety tips to prevent this from happening. 
*Warm car up before then
*Carry a blanket with you, put child in car seat remove jacket. Buckle child in then place jacket on backwards. 
*Wrap blanket around child remove in car seat buckel child in and then place blanket over them. 
*Carsear ponchos are great bc they never have to come off . Place child in car seat pull up the back of the car seat poncho and place on top of car seat lift the bottom up and buckle child in and pull bottom back down over their legs.
